Looking for the best dining experience in Ubud? Hujan Locale might just take the crown. This gem, tucked away on a quiet street just off the main road combines rich Indonesian flavors with a modern twist, making it a must-visit for foodies in Bali.

What Makes Hujan Locale Special?

At its core, Hujan Locale is all about celebrating Indonesia. Chef Will Meyrick has crafted a menu inspired by traditional dishes from across the archipelago that are unquestionably something to write home about. Think beef sate padang and tender slow-cooked beef rendang that’ll make you savor every bite.

The Vibes

The space is chic yet cozy, with vintage touches, wooden interiors, and plenty of greenery. It’s perfect for a romantic dinner or a chill night with friends. The central location is just a short walk from Ubud Palace and the Art Market, making it a great post-exploration stop. I usually opt for smart-casual attire (think a flowy dress and sandals), but wear whatever makes you happy and comfortable (it's Ubud, afterall)

What to Order

If you’re unsure, here’s the go-to lineup:

Starter: You can't--CAN'T--miss the scallop ceviche. Jagung Bakar, the beef sate padange and any of their dumplings take a close second.

Main: Slow cooked betawi-style chicken is my go-to

Dessert: Pineapple Granita is one of those desserts you don't think to order but then cant imagine a world without it.

Why You Should Go

Hujan Locale isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a culinary experience. From the bold, authentic flavors to the warm, elegant ambiance, it’s the kind of place you’ll rave about long after the last bite.

If you’re in Ubud, don’t miss it. Book a table and see why so many people call it the best restaurant in Bali.
